In the year 1927, it was the vision and the leadership of Shri. O Andhi Sahib, the Chairman of Kannur Municipal Council along with other believers that the Kannur Muslim Jama-ath came into existence.
The Kannur Muslim Jama-ath is a well known charitable organization which renders social, cultural and educational services for the welfare of the weaker sections of the society.

As in previous years, as part of the “Thala Chaykaan Oru Idam” project, the Kuwait Kannur Muslim Jama’ath will hand over the 7th and 8th houses built this year for needy and handicapped families.

A new physiotherapy clinic, supported by the KMJ Qatar Committee, was inaugurated by President Janab V. Mukthar Sahib to provide affordable care to the needy.

A dream project of KMJ, is to build a wedding hall for the benefit of the poor and middle class on the 36 cents of land; 26 cents on the Adam Seth Memorial Building on Kannur city beach road, donated by the Seth family in Bangalore and 10 cents donated by the current president of KMJ, Dr.P. A Salim.
